Alfred thought that he could make out the sound of quiet sobbing. It was muffled through the drizzle, but Alfred had (unfortunately) become fairly familiar with crying children throughout his years with the Waynes and their brood.
Alfred's brow furrowed in concern. He couldn't just leave a child in distress, no matter what the horror movies the boys watched said. No demon was going to bite his face off. He hoped.
