Steve gets hired on the spot. Because why shouldn’t he, he brought a printed resume and had the foresight to dress nicely. Which, according to his new boss, Keith, is a pleasant change from the usual applicants who show up in ripped jeans and demonic t-shirts. The look on his face and the specificity of his words tells Steve that this really happened.
“That’s crazy,” Steve says with a commiserating sort of chuckle, because his dad raised a schmoozer. “Hope he wore something better to the next interview.”
“Oh, no,” Keith says offhandedly. “I hired him.”

“Nobody’s looking.” Mac slinks into Nate’s lap and braces both hands on his shoulders. Nate would’ve jumped about a mile high if not for Mac’s weight holding him down. “It’s just us, isn’t it?”
“It’s-“ Nate swallows. “We’re alone.”
“Yeah, we are.” Mac slides his gun calloused hands up the sides of Nate’s face, relishing in the scratch of his beard against his palms and the strong bone structure he feels underneath. “You and me.”
