Flins is certain (correctly) that Illuga would entertain, if he may be so bold, intimate relations with himself. So why does his young master keep running away every time they get anywhere?
Illuga is certain (incorrectly) that Flins is the type to want to take charge in the bedroom. Unfortunately, so is Illuga, and he hasn’t quite figured out the best way to broach this issue yet. As brave as the golden nightingale is, sometimes a tactical retreat is in order.
Fortunately for them both, they figure it out in the end.

“Khaslana,” Mydei responds, his voice hesitant as his finger finally dips down to press over the injury Khaslana had previously been hiding.
Over the startling crack in his skin.
Oh.
Khaslana’s eyes widen, his arm shooting out to grip Mydei’s wrist. Mydei offers no protest, simply staring, frozen in shock.
“You’re…breaking,” Mydei mutters, so quietly.
Khaslana screws his eyes shut.
“You weren’t supposed to see.”
Or: Khaslana trudges through millions of cycles, stealing Coreflames and losing himself all while he clings to the memories from his original Flame-Chase Journey, and of his original Mydeimos.

Summary
Scene: second floor bedroom of Building 27-A, inhabited by trolls, underwritten by the Government, to serve as workforce for the human race. Living conditions are below satisfactory and the future is unpromising, but Xefros is uncaring of that. Last night, the tetrarch gave him something to think about and it completely changed his stance in regards to all that he knew, or thought that he knew.
Alternatively, Xefros is in love and a lot more dangerous than he looks.
