Adam drains his glass and lets it hit the tabletop with a clunk. “Hey, do you think it’s like, weird that Michael calls me ‘Father’ during sex?”
“Oh.” Sam makes a face. “Adam, we don’t need to talk about this.”
That’s fair. Adam and Sam don’t have that kind of relationship. They don’t really have any kind of relationship. They see each other twice a year at Sam’s insistence, and they discuss mundanities because neither of them can face the things they have in common. It’s normally an obligation Adam doesn’t care enough to bother getting out of, but this time he found some weird Men of Letters liquor in an unlabelled bottle and downed several glasses before Sam could stop him, which is probably why he’s now feeling warm and affectionate and over-share-y.
He says, “I mean, I know it’s weird, obviously. But do you think I should make him stop?”
“Well, if it bothers you…“ Sam shrugs, trailing off. He’s really incredibly red for someone Adam knows for a fact spent a year having acrobatic blood-sucking sex with an actual demon. The glass in front of him is still half-full, and Adam wonders if it would be too rude to drink from it.
“Honestly? I think I kinda like it.”
“Yikes,” Sam says.
