She looked and sounded almost soft, comforting. It was clear her anger over what happened had diminished over the events of the day, but there was also a guarded tone in her voice, like maybe she already knew what he meant.
"Not for everything."
She sighed. Her eyes dropped to the flames rising from her hands, and Ashton's followed, enraptured by the bright, flickering heat.
"Yeah, um -", she said softly. "That."

It was only aboard the 'Mollymauk', on the second night after arriving in the bowels of the ship after a surprise teleport at the end of Nana Morri's scavenger hunt, that Ashton figured it out.This is a little scene from a bigger thing I'm working on. Basically, Nana Morri's scavenger hunt ends up with Fearne and Ashton landing aboard the 'Mollymauk', the pirate ship of Kingsley Tealeaf

Summary
The cold air felt like a balm on their skin and for a moment they only stood there, breathing, and contemplated to just lay down in the snow and stay there for a bit. But looking around they saw hoofprints that lead around the castle entrance and into the park, which the de Rolo's probably just called a garden.
The hoofprints were accompanied by small patches where the snow had melted away to show scorched earth beneath.
He huffed out another laughter and almost tripped over his feet in haste on his way through the hedges and gnarly trees. If he had survived this whole fucking ordeal only for her to kill him now, then that was probably only fair.Or: Ashton apologises to Fearne after taking the shard. Bells Hells are angry and Orym is a sweetheart. And adrenaline makes for quite the aphrodisiac.

With a sigh, Bill removed his hand from the painting. He turned his gaze to a pile of rocks along the base. He removed the largest to reveal a trove of torn pages and trinkets of memories long deleted. Sixer’s memories that came too close. Bill retrieved the latest scrap of journal from Ford’s pocket.
Where is Euclydia? Where has it gone?
