When Clive Rosfield sacrifices his life to free his homeland from a corrupt magical order, he expects death, not rebirth in a world that is not his own. Awakening in Faerûn with a mind flayer parasite in his skull, Clive is forced into uneasy alliance with a band of strangers fighting to stop an Elder Brain from enslaving the realm.
Clive meets Shadowheart, a guarded cleric devoted to a dark goddess who demands obedience and sacrifice.
