She’s staring at the shadows on the wall. Watching as the light danced over her picture frames and pinned Polaroids. Kate blinks slowly. She needs to move, needs to take Lucky on a walk. But she can’t make her limbs move. Can’t even shift out of the fetal position. She doesn’t have the energy to do anything but stare blankly. The anguish overwhelmed her so completely. -
