Dawnmaker, the new boy’s love novel that’s been featured on the front page of Greatreads’ queer love section for months, has been the latest hot topic in his friend group. Everyone’s been raving about how it’s the romance of the century, a beautiful, tragic love story between a saint and a knight.
Except it’s terrible, in his opinion.
It’s essentially every other tropey transmigration plot where the main character is a damsel in distress and the knight comes to save the day, and all the villains are borderline lobotomized to make the heroes appear more cunning. Especially the tyrant crown prince, the second male lead, is the most one-dimensional character he’s ever seen. He’s not one to ridicule his friend’s tastes, so he tries to keep it as civil as possible when he says the book is …not good.
