Summary
Yelena is haunted by a smile she doesn't recognize in any of the faces she passes. A smile she hasn't been able to place, not since she woke up from being dusted only to find 5 years had passed without her, & the sister she'd finally managed to reconnect with was dead.
Still, with the problems she's got, a haunting smile is the least of her worries. Or it would be, until she meets an amnesic stranger who couldn't seem to care less if he lives or dies. Instantly struck by an all-too familiar connection, she's set on a path to uncover the mystery surrounding the strange dreams she’s been having & how they all seem to center on the stranger she’s only just met.
As the truth begins to reveal itself, she’s left to decide if she’s ready to unravel the pieces of a past she didn’t even know belonged to her, or if she'd rather remain in the dark. She may not have much of a choice in the matter though, because the past doesn't always prefer to stay buried.

“Bob,” Sentry repeated the name like it was a foreign word, tilting his head. For a moment, something almost human flickered across his expression, then it was gone.
“I don’t plan to kill you,” he said slowly. “Plans imply doubt. If I wanted you dead, you wouldn’t be speaking.” Bob almost laughed. They stared at each other, soldier and god, both too stubborn to look away. Sentry crouched slightly so they were eye-level.
