Summary
The Swiss National League doesn’t care about the legendary Hollander-Rozanov rivalry. When the MLH can’t negotiate with the Hockey Players’ Union in time to prevent a hockey lockout at the start of the 2015 season, the Zürich Lions jump at the chance to sign both Shane and Ilya to short-term contracts. For four months in Switzerland, they share a team, a line, a house, and a bed.
Then the lockout ends in January, and it’s time to go back. Back to different countries, cities, lives. Beds.
Reentry is harder than expected.

Summary
Ilya laughed.
“That bothered you?”
”You have no idea. Half the time I use the tiny scraps of information you give me to look them up anyway. But you’re so cryptic. You’re like,” Shane put on a little voice, “‘Ah, we might have a layover in Charlotte, but am not sure, could be Atlanta.’ Infurating.”
”Ok, Hollander, I will send you a calendar invite. This is seductive to you, yes?”

It’s been months since the cottage, and Shane is finally coming to visit Ilya. He hasn’t been back in Boston since the day he ran out the door saying he couldn’t do this. Ilya is spiraling, just a little, not knowing where they stand in this new and fragile thing. Boyfriends, probably. He’s never been someone’s boyfriend before.

Summary
Ilya Rozanov boards a plane putting more distance between him and his father and the pressure of life in Russia.
Shane Hollander boards the same plane with a carefully planned routine and excitement over a break from his sometimes overbearing, but always loving Mother.
Somewhere between Toronto and Vancouver they discover they have a lot in common and become friends.
They were supposed to be rivals. They were not supposed to fall for each other. Too bad nobody told them that.

Summary
Welcome to 2025 MHL — where being gay isn’t a scandal, but having the Big Bad Russian Alpha Captain of Boston Raiders openly thirsting over the Pretty Omega Rookie of Montreal Metros definitely is.
Nineteen year-old Shane Hollander just wanted to play hockey. After a viral scandal – collapsing on the ice and experiencing his first heat on national television during the International Prospect Cup – the Montreal Metros gave him a chance to rewrite his narrative. A life-changing entry contract. A media spotlight. And the title of the first omega in the MHL.
Enter Ilya Rozanov: twenty-nine-year-old MHL veteran, Boston Raiders captain, and resident villain fans love to hate. An alpha who never forgets a pretty face once he’s seen it.
And Shane Hollander has a very pretty face.
A story for those who love confident, experienced Ilya courting a shy and overwhelmed Shane, who tries very hard to pretend he doesn’t enjoy it. Expect a ten-year age gap, primal tension, and an alpha taking care of his Babyboy Shane in public and private. Potential daddy kink.
Semi-omegaverse. No mpreg. No babies. (I don’t like babies, sorry, lmao.)
Slow-burn progression.

Summary
The best way to describe this work, I think, is as a novelization of the television series told from Ilya Rozanov's point of view. What happens in the series will happen, more or less, in this work.
Please note, I did read both Heated Rivalry and The Long Game by Rachel Reid, but that was some time ago and my recollection of them is spotty at best. Because they are novels and this is a written story, I did NOT consult the books in order to reduce the chance that I would inadvertently plagiarize them. That means that where the television series leaves a gap in the narrative, I may fill it with something very different than what happens in the books. We will all end up at the cottage, but some of us are taking a slightly different path to get there.
This novelization means that potentially triggering things that happen in the series (like mental health issues) will happen in this work. NOTE, HOWEVER, no new issues will be added in this work. No one dies. No one is outed. No one is assaulted. This is just the story of the show as if it were from Ilya's point of view.
