Summary
"You... you..." Eggchan stammered through his fingers, trying to regain his last shred of composure, but his knees had begun to tremble. He slowly lowered his hand and swallowed hard. "Wifies? Are you really Wifies?"
The faint phantom didn't look aggressive at all. His face retained its gentle features from before, except that his skin was deathly pale and his dull eyes lacked their usual vitality.
Wifies tilted his head slightly, the scruffy brown tail behind his back wagging once in a slow motion, stirring the dust motes floating in the air.
"Yeah, I'm Wifies," he answered, his voice sounding distant and echoing. "But... it seems you're the only one who can see me? I followed Parrot all morning, and he couldn't hear me calling him at all."
Hearing Parrot's name, Eggchan shuddered. He recalled Parrot's thin appearance and his droopy, untrimmed wings in the schoolyard earlier.
"Parrot... didn't see you?"

Eggchan knows a little secret (multiple, actually) about wemmbu that he plans to exploit, considering that he is the "all-seeing-eye". He has no idea Wemmbu has tricks of his own.

Sharpness unlatched the door with a soft click, letting it creak open to peek through the crack.
Jude stared back at him, the corners of his mouth turned up in an embarrassed smile. His hair was messy, he must have run to get here, and he was hunched over slightly to catch his breath. There was a cut on his ear and dirt on his jacket. He was smiling anyway.
“Hey," he grinned at Sharpness. "Could I come in?”
