After an incident involving being punched by a bully, a teenager named Astrid leaves her hometown in search of a fresh start. With the aid of a strange deer, she was able to make her way to an interesting city with the architecture of an empire long gone. Now that she finds herself in the coastal community of Syracuse, she has to rediscover herself and confront the shadows, or spirits, of her past.

What is purpose when the world has ended?
Rory is a sixteen-year-old girl who awoke in the middle of the ocean following the destruction caused by a global war, having been saved by someone claiming to be the Polaris, the North Star. In addition to her life being saved, Rory was given a place to live, enough food and entertainment to sustain herself, and the promise of a permanent refuge in a place called Ganymede. Without much idea of what Ganymede is, Rory must launch herself into a world of discovery while learning more about her mysterious savior and the growing conflict between the people of Earth and a group of scientists who seek to turn the planet into a scrapyard.
