Summary
Dean saw his first real ghost at age seven and a half. There’s an entry in his dad’s journal about it. What John doesn’t know is that Dean’s known about ghosts since he was four. His mother was dead but she was also right there, following him around the house, smiling at him, watching over him. Dean knew if he opened his mouth she would disappear in a cloud of smoke, the shape of which he'd seen curl up and out of the window the night she died. So, for the three weeks and four days that they lived in that house in Lawrence again, he didn’t say a word.

Summary
The room seemed to fade around him, his gaze fixed on the window as he negotiated the church’s inconveniently arranged furnishings to approach it. Dean was vaguely aware of the sting of a pew as it knocked off his hip, but he ignored it, attention singularly focused on the familiar image printed on the glass.
Dean stumbles upon a church bearing an image of Castiel, and both Dean and Cas are forced to reflect on a particularly tumultuous period in their relationship. Dean finds that a lot has changed in the intervening years, and maybe it’s finally time to address the things they’ve kept buried for far too long.
Though Dean is still struggling with the Mark of Cain, and Cas with his rapidly deteriorating grace, they allow themselves to have this much-needed moment of respite.

Summary
“Are you serious, Dean? Your djinn-dream started with you dying?” Sam asks incredulously from the passenger seat on the way back to the bunker.
“Well, technically it started with us going on a hunt,” Dean points out. He licks his lips, jaw clenching. “I mean, there was Heaven, too, and that was pretty cool.”
Sam stares at him. “Unbelievable,” he breathes, scrunching his face up in distaste. When Dean glares at him, he holds his hands up defensively and chuckles weakly. “Sorry, man, but that just sounds pretty lame.” He leans back and folds his arms. “It just…I dunno. Kinda sounds like something Chuck would cook up. Just you and me. No one else. I mean, really?” He scoffs, slumping.

In which some people come back, Cas learns to be human (the right way, this time), Dean Winchester finally realizes that good things do happen, and they all get their version of the post-credits, apple-pie life they deserved.

Summary
There are very few things that Castiel has truly enjoyed since becoming human. Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches is one of them, the soft slide of satin and silk against his skin is another, and sleep, but what he is doing right at this second is the very best thing.
Sex. Or more specifically, sex with Dean.
