Summary
Taylor broke up with Chad halfway through his three-day freshman orientation with an email that read more like he was being fired than broken up with.
Which leads to late night phone calls with Ryan Evans, begrudgingly watching musicals and somehow sharing lunches with his new frenemy Sharpay.

Summary
Carter’s parents have always teased him about his tendency to take in strays. It started when he was three years old and brought a rabbit with a broken leg from their yard to his room, claiming that since it was hurt, it needed his bed more than he did. The animals changed over the years, ranging from birds with damaged wings to a three legged puppy from the shelter he volunteered at in high school, but the feeling of needing to protect something so lost and vulnerable never went away.
He felt the same looking at Scott’s boyfriend alone on the ice.
_____After a historic cup win, none of the Admirals know quite what comes next. They do know two things:
1. They’ve all got their captain’s (and by extension his boyfriend’s) back.
2. It’s time to party.Bookmarked by benjaminangel

Summary
Kip leaned against the counter, projecting an air of casual competence he absolutely did not feel. His heart was doing a stupid little tap dance against his ribs, which was ridiculous. He served handsome men all the time. Halifax was full of bearded fishermen and lumbersexual hipsters.
But this was different. This guy looked like he was the forest.
"Morning," Kip said, aiming for breezy and landing somewhere near slightly breathless. "What can I get started for you? We have a Guatemalan roast today that has notes of chocolate and existential dread, if that's your vibe."
Or:
The one where Scott is a grumpy junior hockey coach and Kip is a charmingly awkward rugby player. Both come with their own baggage. Both are miserable in their own way.
Oh, and they are in Canada.Bookmarked by benjaminangel

Summary
“I loved him enough to try,” Kip whispered, his voice heavy with immense exhaustion. “But loving someone shouldn’t mean secrecy.”
Margaret held him tighter, and Kip felt the last remnants of his strength drain away. The struggle between loving Scott and loving himself had worn him out. And now, in his mother’s arms, with the smell of tea beginning to fill the house, he faced the hardest reality of all: sometimes, the bravest love is the one that says goodbye.
“Well, the advice your grandmother gave me, back when your father and I were on and off…” Margaret said softly, tucking her son’s curls behind his ear. “When two people are meant to find each other, the universe itself puts them in each other’s path by chance. If it’s meant to happen, it will—just pay attention, but don’t wait with expectations.”
