Summary
“Do none of you care about the children? It’s a bachelor auction, and you, my friend, are a bachelor. Abracadabra, put your name on the list.”
“I can’t,” Eddie repeats. He can’t. He cannot. “I’m not.”
“You’re not? Since when?” Chimney frowns. “Who?”
It’s not Eddie’s fault that, at that exact moment, Buck walks in. So it’s not his fault that he opens his mouth and says, “Buck.”
Or, Eddie trips and falls into a lightly fraudulent HR-disclosed "consensual romantic relationship" with his best friend. Really, if you think about it, it's a win-win.

Summary
Eddie interrupts. “Well,” he says, turning fully to their waiter, “today’s kind of a special occasion, you see.”
Sven smiles. “Someone’s birthday?” He looks between Buck and Eddie.
“It’s actually, uh, our anniversary,” Eddie says, reaching out a hand to place over Buck’s.

Summary
Eddie touches Buck a lot.
It’s a thing they do, has been for years, and it’s not a big deal. Eddie’s an affectionate guy. Side hugs and arm grabs and that move where Eddie steers him through doorways with a hand on his lower back.
All of which Buck has never spent any real time considering because it’s just Eddie, it’s just how he is. Eddie touches people and Buck just happens to be the person standing next to him most of the time, so it’s aimed at him most of the time. Proximity and frequency, that’s all. A coincidence.
They’re close. They always have been. So what?
All that being said, there is one thing Eddie doesn’t do.
Eddie doesn’t kiss Buck.
Or — didn’t. Past tense, until about thirty seconds ago, when Eddie leaned across their table at the diner they’re currently eating at and pressed his mouth to Buck’s cheek like the kiss was just another item on a list of things he was doing that afternoon.

Summary
“You sold your dick?” Eddie says, voice pitching higher than it should. Everyone snaps to look at him, and Eddie’s cheeks suddenly flush with warmth. Okay. Maybe he’s drunk.
“No…not exactly,” Buck says, “I let them like… take a mould. Take some pictures. That’s not— it could be the lie! You guys have to guess!”
“No,” Eddie slurs, tilting forward, an accusatory finger pointed. “I don’t believe you. And the car thing is—” A slightly drunken hiccup. “Bullshit. You can’t tell two lies.”
Horrified at the allegation, Buck gasps, hand slapped against his sternum. “You think I’d— Eddie, the sanctity of two truths and a lie is really, really important to me.”

Summary
Buck finally sees him, his pupils blown wide, his lips red from sucking on Buck’s neck. “Fuck, I don’t know what I need. I feel insane right now. I just need to see, you know? I need proof of the blood pumping underneath your skin.”
“And you decided a hickey was the only way to do that?” Buck laughs, a tad hysterical. Eddie responds by pressing his finger against the hickey beginning to form on his neck. Buck hisses at the touch and, in the dim light, Eddie’s eyes seem to get even darker. Hungrier.
Buck is so fucked.
Or, Eddie becomes obsessed with checking Buck's pulse after New Mexico. It quickly escalates, when checking with his hands isn't enough anymore.
