    Granger kicked Alucard in the shin and started walking away. The blonde chased after him laughing, promising to buy Granger a decent meal in the tavern if he let out another graceful squawk. He was met with Granger's gloved middle finger.

    (A fic in which Granger and Alucard grew up together and decided to stick with each other even as the universe try to pry them apart. )

    That same hand Philippe wrenched free slipped into his suit’s pocket, instead, and what came out were two blisters of headache and nausea medicine each. With a sharp inhale, Corbeau instantly recognized their packaging as his preferred brands as well, and maybe he was too far gone in his exhaustion, for the boss to start seeing things that were not there— like his oldest friend having an inkling that he was on the brink of fainting and buying his medicine on the way back to check up on him was equivalent to Philippe entrusting his heart to Corbeau.

    Or: When Corbeau was at the brink of exhaustion after pulling several all-nighters in a short period, Philippe unexpectedly came to the rescue not just by offering his boss' preferred medicine in hand, but his heart, too.
