Summary
Seventy-two seconds.
For all the radars and satellites and early warning systems, the Earth had seventy-two seconds between the appearance of the alien ships and the first bomb that hit the ground. Barely over a minute, just enough time to wonder if it was real or reach for the phone. Simultaneously, the sky above eighty-one metropolitan areas brightened and a whistling sound was heard followed by a thump-whoosh-rattle as the device passed through the atmosphere. For most, the shattering of glass and rending of metal was their first indication something was wrong and, by then, it was too late. The dark cylinders slammed into buildings, fell on roads, and smashed onto houses with concussive force, blowing out windows and sending a shock wave hurtling outward.
An alien invasion/post-apocalyptic/end-of-the-world big AU with three pairings: Clint/Coulson, Tony/Bucky, and Natasha/Pepper. The story is told through Clint & Phil's POV but all three pairs have a story arc.

Summary
This series is set in the universe of three of Speranza's stories: 3 lovers, Snowed In, and With Six You Get Eggroll.
I wrote this series one scene at a time, over about a 5-year period. The chronology is complex, and the partition into the three items listed as works in the series reflects when I finished each "work," rather than the way the scenes arrange themselves in time.
If you're familiar with Speranza's three universe-defining stories and comfortable with things jumping around in time, then I think you'll be OK reading the three "works" in this series in the listed order.
HOWEVER, if you would like to read the scenes in the series in chronological order and relative to Speranza's inspiring stories, I'm providing a chronologically arranged set of links in the Series Notes. I don't know for sure, yet, whether I'll be merging these three works into a unified chronology or not. Feedback welcome!

Steve gets out of the hospital in two days, but just barely. “I’m fine,” he tells Sam, Nurse Eunjung and the phalanx of doctors assigned to make sure Captain America didn’t bleed out and die and get bad PR all over their nice clean hospital. “I have an advanced healing factor. It’s fine. See? I’m standing.”
“That is not standing,” Sam tells him.
“You’re bending the IV stand,” Nurse Eunjung adds pointedly. “Let go and sit down, they don’t grow on trees.”

The idea I had while drawing was that the end of the world happens some time after WS or CW, Steve and Bucky are looking for Tony so he can make a new arm for Bucky, and Natasha, Clint and Sam are looking for them so they can stop Hydra from taking control of what's left of society. That or quiet slice of life, except in a post-apo world."
