Summary
Mike was missing again.
Not on purpose – at least, that’s what he would claim when someone inevitably tracked him down, because they would find him, even there, sitting high above Sattler Quarry with his legs dangling over the edge of the cliff he’d jumped from all those years ago. He’d woken up that morning with his bedsheets wrapped around his legs and his skin slick with sweat, the phantom-cold fingers of a nightmare still tangled in the folds of his brain leaving frostbite streaks in their wake as they reluctantly retreated to wait for the next time exhaustion won over his will, and he was on his bike pedaling away from the house as fast as his legs would let him with nothing but the clothes on his back when the sun was still only a thought hovering below the horizon.
It wasn’t like he enjoyed making them worry, but the idea of biking back home felt impossible, and he didn’t trust himself to stand and drag his feet away from the cliff’s edge rather than shuffling the mere few inches further to plummet once again, only this time with no one to magically save him partway down.
OR Will finds Mike on a cliff at the quarry, getting eaten alive by his guilt, and they talk.

“I don’t know what’s wrong with me,” he sobs out, hands automatically coming to to clench at his hair. Like if he pulls hard enough he’ll break open his scalp and see his brain, be able to dig around for an answer inside. “What- what’s wrong with me?” He’s begging even without saying please.
He used to stay silent in his bedroom, refusing to even listen to music through his headphones in case it was too loud. But now he knows that neither Aizawa or Yamada hear him, not unless they’re right outside his door. He can cry and he can talk to himself and go can go absolutely fucking insane and they’ll be none the wiser.
Sometimes he yearns to call out, hopes one of the heroes will hear and come save him. He opens his mouth, words tingling on his tongue, just to sob so hard he shuts himself up.
How can they comfort him from something he can’t explain?
He doesn’t have an eating disorder. He has no reason to feel like this. There’s nothing they can do for him if there’s nothing wrong.

Summary
During spring break, Hitoshi goes back to his current foster parents' house, something he fought against but ultimately didn't get a say on. During said break, they face the usual abuse their current guardians show them, except it's amped up to 100.
He ends up teetering between life and death from a brutal beating, and in his time of need, they call their partner for help, unsure of what else to do.
But along with Denki comes Aizawa and Yamada-sensei.
After being unconscious for multiple days and staying in the hospital for a little over a week, they're finally able to go home. Except they have no home now, because their foster parents are awaiting trail and he's unable to stay in their home, and they have no where else to feasibly go.
Aizawa and Yamada take them in then.
Nothing's official -- they aren't even registered as fostering them right now -- but after a night spent at their home, filled with furry cats and warmth and peace, being protected and safe, Hitoshi wants it to be.
They've never had a family before, but perhaps they've just stumbled into one.
