On the day of Jake and Sherry's wedding, Leon does what every father should.
The ringing of bells can be heard overhead. The sun spilling into the church, and people bustling around in last minute preparation.
Leon leans against the door frame as he knocks on the door, “Sherry? Come on, open up kid.”
He’s met with silence, reaching for the doorknob he gently pushes the door open to reveal the bride-to-be pacing the room.
She doesn’t seem to notice him–pale fingers fidgeting with her necklace as she’s stuck in her own head.
Closing the door, Leon takes long steps to her. “Sherry.” Leon touches her shoulder only to feel her tense.
“Huh? Oh, Leon.” Sherry blinks at him before forcing a smile, “what’s going on? Are we ready to go?”
“No, guests are still filling in.” Reassurance clear in his voice as his brows furrows, “what’s going on? You kicked out all your bridesmaids and Claire.”
“I just...what if I’m making a mistake?” Sherry asks as she sits on the sofa, “what if my marriage falls apart in ten years time? Or worse, it’s my parents?”
Leon sighs before taking a seat next to Sherry, “you’re marriage is going to be fine.”
