His eyes are red-rimmed like he’s been crying again, but Robert doesn’t know if he has. He used to know, used to be able to just feel it in his bones; Aaron had always worn his emotions on his sleeve since Robert had first met him – like some kind of watch – and Robert had always been able to tell when to expect the tears like fucking clockwork.

Summary
It’s not big at all – and if Aaron didn’t know better he’d just pass it off as just a little extra weight on Robert’s lower belly – but Aaron does know better, and it makes him anxious.
“Look, maybe I should go talk to him,” Robert says with a sigh as he lifts one hand up to rub his fingers against his forehead. Aaron bites his lip, and feels his jaw twitch, his fingers curl into a fist at his side.

“Just talkin’ Aaron.” Robert cuts him off, holding up one hand placatingly. “He’s not – he’s not gonna do anythin’.”

Summary
The audience all begin to clap like seals in some kind of waterpark show in Tenerife, and Aaron rolls his eyes and joins in too when Mack elbows him in the ribs and nods in the direction of Nicola from HR, who is frowning at him from across the room with beady eyes. Aaron sighs through his nose and turns his gaze back towards the front, raises an eyebrow in curiosity when he sees the twitch of unease in Robert’s almost photoshoot perfect grin as he takes Lawrence’s hand and squeezes tight.
“I give it six months before he’s caught shagging one of the salesgirls over his desk.” Mack murmurs to him from the corner of his mouth; Aaron snorts and tilts his head in further towards him.
“Bet you a tenner it’s five.”
