“I’m sorry,” He hiccups, scrubbing a dirty hand over his face. It is the end of the world as Megumi knows it, and yet there is still nothing more important than the shiny gleaming in Yuji’s eyes, “I’m sorry, Fushiguro. It’s my fault, it’s– it’s–”
Megumi quiets him, placing his hand on Yuji’s mouth. “Shh,” he whispers, “Later. Right now, we need to go. Are you with me?”
He knows the answer far before Yuji responds.

He never really got over it. Yuji navigates post-colony Japan, to the tune of Pierce The Veil.
He can’t explain it. There is something impossibly complex about Fushiguro Megumi, something that he wants to explore, even though living each day to touch and feel and see him comes at the cost of someone else’s life.
“Okay,” He responds hoarsely. Megumi looks back at him once again, before grabbing his wrist and sprinting into the darkness. Yuji allows himself to be led once again.
