Summary
It's over. What should have been the perfect ending was ruined beyond salvage. The Prince from the Moon looked upon the dying Earth and came to a decision. If the world was truly and hopelessly beyond help, then for the sake of the one he once claimed to love, he will give the man who had sworn her love and happiness a second chance. So by using every last dreg of chakra left in the apocalyptic world, he returned the ruined Nanadaime Hokage to the past.
Chakra has no connection to time and space, it was simply there and so it was the combined chakra that was returned to the past and 13 years old Uzumaki Naruto woke up from a coma screaming in despair for a future that no longer exist and swore to save the lives that were lost. A boy whose body and memory carried the legacies of those who had been lost, grieving for all humanity that had been consumed, now walked with a purpose worthy of Rikudou Sennin. “Even the future Hokage needs someone he can depend on once and while. No matter how strong you get, your friends will be here to support you every step of the way,”
“.…..I can’t tell you that won’t happen, Naruto-kun, but I think you’re forgetting something important,” she began, tracing patterns on the grass beneath her fingers, “You have people that know your heart, know who you really are, people that would never look at you and call you a monster, even if you lost control,”
Naruto clenched his teeth as she laid bare one of his biggest fears. That the day would come that, not just the villagers, but his closest friends, the friends he’d work so hard to make, would call him a monster, would look at him with horror, fear and hatred.
That he’d end up alone again.
Hated and unloved.
“You’re not perfect and no one that cares about you expects you to be. You don’t have to be something you’re not just to please the villagers, and you don’t have to beat yourself up for not meeting someone else’s expectations. At the end of the day, you have to live with you, no one else. You have to look at yourself in the mirror and love or hate what you see there. The friends you made, you made them just being you and you’ll keep those friends, just being you. In one reality, Uzumaki Naruto studied under the Toad Sage Jiraiya. In this one, he somehow adopted the Snake Sage Orochimaru.
In that reality, Uzumaki Naruto sacrificed himself to bring down a Goddess. In this one, he returned to the starting line the long way around.
Overpowered but lackadaisical, Naruto just want to live life with his beautiful Hinata but he still have a certain shadow to beat the shit out of before he can finally get that promised fairytale ending. Wish him luck. They will need it.
