Warmth spreads through him at the point of contact. His brain is still fuzzy with the remnants of his dream, and before he can even wonder what is going on, his hips press back again on their own accord, chasing that sweet friction.
“Mmmhhhh, good morning, schatje,” a low voice rasps right below his ear, and- he knows that voice. His mouth falls open around a soundless gasp, as the picture from his dream and his bed partner fall into place in his mind and become one.
In the same moment, soft, full lips press into his shoulder, mouthing gently against the point where the skin is thinnest over his shoulder blade. Slowly, lazily, still half-asleep, kisses are being peppered all over his skin.
“Max,” he gasps out, barely managing to swallow the moan trapped in his throat.

Max chances a look down. Pushed right up against his bare legs, a tiny ball of fur grumbles angrily. Right as he comes to the conclusion that a cat has somehow snuck into his apartment building, the little thing looks up and their eyes meet.
The cat’s eyes are a stunning forest green, twinkling in the light of the elevator. Its fur is a dark brown that is almost the exact shade of-
Nope, not going there, Max thinks, that cat does not look like Charles Leclerc. I refuse to think that.
Almost as if the cat has found something precious in Max’s gaze, the tiny body starts rumbling with happy purrs, its head and the side of its body bumping against his bare shins, its tail even wrapping around his left leg.
“Oh,” Max breathes out. Oh, that is cute.
