Summary
Banished, for which she is forever grateful for, Omega Rey spends her days helping her sweet guardian Maz. Life was simple until the war between Exegol, Alderaan and Naboo erupted. Now her days exhaust her as she runs from the makeshift hospital and the simple home taking care of the wounded.
She’s almost grateful for her heats. At least she gets to leave the village to wait out her heat in her mother’s old cottage in the middle of the woods, as she leaves the war behind.
Tired of all the fighting, Prince Ben of Alderaan and Naboo is out doing what he does best—make the queens worry and spy on the enemy with his old friend Poe. An errand that Poe only confesses to when they cross the boundary into Exegol, Ben is captivated by a new scent.
The Alpha Prince and the sweet Omega meet. Scents mingle and they quickly determine that they can’t live without one another. A secret wedding only binds these two together before they go back to their countries with a promise to reunite after four moon cycles.
But what happens when the ones around them reveal secret plans and not for the newlyweds to find each other again? -

“May I have this dance?” Ben murmurs beside her, bowing low as he asks.
Her heart does that little gallop it does when she’s a wolf and she’s running through the woods. “I would be honored.”
She loves the surprise that makes him smile as she steps into his arms. He starts and she follows like they’ve been doing this for years.
What neither of them sees is both sets of parents watching from the shadows with grins on their faces.

(So! wrote a short two-chapter fic based on this prompt! It's my second fic ever, and I wrote it in my spare time so I apologize for any errors. It feels a little sped up and idk if it will work! I just wanted to make it a finished work that was short and sweet!)

"Are you coming, Rey?" Finn appears at her side, clutching a blanket over his bent shoulders. "It's getting cold."
The fire is still warm though. Rey feels its blaze on her face, her chest, her thighs. It's almost - almost - like a caress.
"In a minute," she says hollowly.
Finn nods, touches her elbow.
"Right, of course," she might be imagining it, but she thinks even Finn is blinking away tears as his eyes flit across the flames. "Do you want me to..."
"I think I'd like to be alone for a bit."
He nods again, shrugs off the blanket and slings it across her shoulders. There's a part of her that will never be warm again, but that part isn't flesh and blood but something deeper still, so she is grateful to her friend as she snuggles into the borrowed warmth.
"Thank you."
"Always," he touches her arm again, turns to leave. "Take as long as you need, Rey."
And with that, the woman who once was the Last Jedi turns back to the funeral pyre and remembers... flames.OR
