Summary
This is a story about family. It is about the worst of betrayals and the best of intentions, the comfort of lies and the ruthlessness of truths; it is about fathers and cults, gods and monsters, love and violence, the ordinary and the horrifying, the unspeakable things that happen in the synapses where they meet. It's about what should never be, but is anyway; what could have been, but never will; and what happens when the blood you share, and choose, defines you entirely.

Summary
The bites are about five days old now. They’re not healing well, skin-split punctures and raised pinks and purples. Any forming scabs have chafed raw all over again under Dean’s clothes. And Sam’s running his fingers over the worst ones, almost gentle, like a doctor examining an open wound. There’s nothing at all gentle about Sam’s rage-tight mouth though. Nor his mutter of, “I’ll fucking kill him.”
And those tight-lips part and he grabs for Dean’s wrists, throws them above his head on the pillow that smells so good, so Sammy, and Dean crosses and keeps them there even though Sam doesn’t hold him down. He winces as Sam presses on one of the worst ones, deep canine nick just below his hip that keeps bleeding again. And Dean licks his kiss-wet lips and says, “jeez, Sammy, let go of your pearls. It’s not that bad.”

Summary
You know there is so much harm Dad could do in these moments, if he were so inclined. He as good as says it himself sometimes, with his quiet promises of I'd never hurt you, Dean, like a pre-emptive hail Mary for his sin.

John’s moods are like a slow growing tumor. Easy to miss at first. Causing all kinds of problems when it's too late.

Summary
In the aftermath of the events of ep 11x14 (The Vessel) Dean needs someone to take him out of his head. He needs to atone for his shortcomings. Sam, honoring the dynamics that have shaped his and Dean's relationship for many years now, rises to the occasion. Guns blazing, so to speak.
This is a pretty dark and twisted tale of atonement and forgiveness. It probably isn't sane. It's definitely not safe. But at least it's consensual - in a twisted, Wincest-y way...

Summary
Dean starts keeping track of their route on the Rand McNally, logging each leg with a pen he finds in the glovebox. He doesn’t know why other than they’ve never moved like this in his life and he wants some record of the places they stop, even if it’s only for three hours to sleep. East on 90, south on 75, then 65, west on 30, south on 45 all the way to the gulf. Dean reads the frenzy in John’s white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel and it frightens him but he says nothing, just lets his father volley them across the country, away from one ghost and toward every other.
(after sam leaves for stanford, dean and john try to find their way.)

Summary
September, 2005. Jessica Moore is focused on acing her final year at Stanford, passing her medical school entrance exams, and figuring out her boyfriend Sam—all of which leaves very little time for sorting through her strained family relationships, or wondering about her missing cousin, or remembering the charming green-eyed drifter she slept with some months back. But when she gets a strange call from her best friend Brady, kidnapped by a cult while home for the summer, she and Sam set out to find him—and along the way, she discovers her part in a sprawling chess match that not only involves Sam’s family secrets, but her own as well.

Summary
This series is canon-divergent from the first story, which takes place when Dean is 15 years old and has a disastrous first hunt that changes his relationship with himself and his father forever. The second story in the series begins a season 1 rewrite.
The order of the main series is currently:
1. Some Cruel Tide
2. A Cliff That Knew Too Many Tides
3. RiptideDarkest Light is a companion piece which can be read on its own.
Four Places John Could Have Taken Dean (etc) is a collection of AUs diverging after Some Cruel Tide with references to backstory shared in A Cliff That Knew Too Many Tides, and Sandpaper on Glass is yet another canon rewrite AU following the alternate timeline proposed in the first chapter of Four Places (in which Dean is sent to live with Ellen after Some Cruel Tide).
