So he picked heroes that had died fair and square.

Summary
Rowan, Elide, Gavriel, and Lorcan have been searching for Aelin for over a year when they hear a rumor that Aelin Ashryver Galythinius has joined Queen Maeve's court in Doranelle. They travel and find Maeve who reveals that she has wiped Aelin's memory since the fall of Terrasen, making her bieleive that Maeve had her rescued the night after her parents murder. Maeve purposes a deal, she lets them see Aelin and in return they won't attempt to free her. Rowan knows that even with his and Gavriel's and Lorcan's combined might they wouldn't be able to fight against Maeve and all her armies. Desprate to see his mate he agrees. And then he sees Aelin, and she knows he's her mate.
