Facing his old companion, he flashed him a bright, happy smile and opened his mouth to greet him.
The words got stuck in his throat.
His smile vanished as Phil lunged at him, sword raised, ready to strike.
The sharp clang of metal echoed through the air, audible even far from the cottage. One sword aimed to kill, the other moved only to defend. A surprised, pained sound escaped Techno’s lips.
Red.
"Blood; like you; Redza; huh; Blood; not Phil; blood..."

Phil’s once-blue eyes were now blood red, a color Techno was far too familiar with, yet one that looked horribly wrong on him. He jumped back a few blocks, confusion written across his face.
