Buck doesn’t tell anyone this, but he thinks his apartment is kind of pretentious. Not to mention at this moment it's achingly empty.
He’d rather be here, sitting next to Eddie’s hospital bed, holding his hand.

Summary
Steve makes a face at Eddie. “You've imagined doing stuff with a guy?”
“Yeah, man,” Eddie replies, spreading his hands wide. “Doesn't everyone?”
Steve tilts his head to the side as he thinks. Maybe not very often, but his freshman year when Davey Riggs had been swim team captain? Yeah, he had definitely imagined some stuff that had made trips to the locker room kinda awkward.
“Yeah, that's true,” Steve answers, nodding. “I wonder why everybody acts like it's so gross, though.”
In the summer of 1986, Steve and Eddie have some perfectly normal fun between a couple of perfectly normal dudes.

Summary
The system is flawed.
Nancy knows flawed systems, and she knows them well. She knows to question the textbooks, the politicians, the easy assumptions. The world has split enough under her feet. She's chased enough leads that have led somewhere unexpected — rats aren't always just rats and uneven accounting is sometimes just evidence of bribery. She knows easy answers aren't always the correct ones, Occam's razor be damned.
Soulmarks are a system, their matching an enforcement mechanism.

Eddie, exuding confidence and embracing his sexuality offers a helping hand to Steve who is buckling under the weight of societal pressures.
"Will you have sex with me?"
"Jesus, Steve - what the fuck, man?" It was at that point that Eddie leapt up from his seat on the couch as though Steve had asked him to put his hand into a steaming bag of fresh human shit to guess what's inside.
"What?" Steve asked, cheeks flushed as his eyes followed Eddie around the room.
"You wanna have sex with me cos I called you hot? Raise your fucking standards, man!"
OR: Steve wants to sleep with a guy for the first time and Eddie reluctantly helps against his better judgement.

Summary
After a brief fling with a closeted jock, Eddie Munson is outed at school and left to endure the fallout. Then the notes start appearing in his locker. Short, anonymous, sometimes funny, sometimes kind.
Eddie doesn't know who's writing them. Only that they're the only good thing that's happening.
He's pressing into Steve, using his weight to keep him pinned.
"You and your friends already humiliated me once. And now—what? More bait? I open a note and this time it's five guys in a bathroom instead of three? You stop it from happening because you wanted to be the one to do it yourself?"Steve tries to inhale but the air doesn't quite get there.
"N-no—" he chokes out, barely."So what is it?" Eddie spits.
"Some slow burn setup? You trying to soften me up before the next hit? You get bored of playing the hero and thought you'd string the freak along for a laugh?"Bookmarked by cnomad
