Ford was saying something, he realized. Yet despite his efforts, he couldn’t seem to figure out any actual words, just the consistent drone of his voice. He frowned, willing his stupid brain to focus, he’s explaining something, this is definitely fucking important, Stan, yet all it got him was another wave of nausea that almost made him double over.
It was cold. So fucking cold, all the heat seeming to have left his body and concentrated in the large wet (wet? why was it wet?) patch on his right side.

Had his vision always been this blurry?

Jimmy’s bulky Harley obscured the path ahead, but he could hear the other’s engine thundering, picking up some speed. Stanley gave his bike a little more gas too, coming in hot on his partner’s heels.
“Hold it steady!” Jimmy barked, which was all the warning Stanley got before the alleyway dropped away to goddamn stairs.
A yelp tore out of his throat as his motorcycle skimmed out into open air, high and surprised.

Summary
Stan stared in disbelief when, for the second time in their lives, Ford turned his back on him. Stan should be angry, furious even. Where did Ford get off, treating him like this? Stan had known his brother didn’t want him around, Ford had made that very clear the last time they saw each other, and he certainly didn’t need Ford summoning him from halfway across the country to rub his nose in it.
But anger took energy, and Stan was so, so tired.
