Summary
"Kneel before your Lord."
That phrase had led to Abraxas Malfoy's death, the ruin of the Malfoy Legacy and desecration of their ancestral home, a never ending war, and the misery of all those he had loved. It was also why he spent his days toiling away as a portrait, a highly tasteful portrait, but a portrait nonetheless.
In the years since his death, and the years since his grandson had been forced into the Death Eater ranks, Draco often came to visit his portrait. He had even moved it to a private study in the heir’s wing of Malfoy Manor so that they could speak privately. Abraxas held his secrets tightly and never turned him away. This was all his fault after all, so if that meant he had to sit with his grandson night after night as he agonized over the violence and destruction the Dark Lord perpetrated on their world, then that is what he would do.
“What if there was a way for us to rewrite the Malfoy Legacy?” Draco asked one night, years into the war.
Abraxas considered him carefully. “A way or a witch?”
Draco licked his lips and ran his palms over his trousers, looking apprehensive.
A witch, then. The witch.

After the war, Ginny got married to Harry, Hermione thought it was only sensible if she got together with Ron.
Ginny had disapproved, especially after she had listened to Hermione talk about how she found Draco Malfoy interesting when she had seen how Draco keeps the spreadsheets so neatly, how he could brew perfect potions, and is now head of three medical wards at St Mungos.
