“I’ll send some now. Give me ten minutes.” His voice is rushed and monotone.
I laugh openly. “You won’t last that long.”
A hand covers Sylus' face, and his brow furrows, head falling back against the chair while his strong back arched away from the couch. The shaky breaths highlight his gorgeous frame in the low light so perfectly. He must have tried awfully hard to deal with this before resorting to calling me, seeing the state that he’s in, but he takes me by surprise when he talks again. He spits out a pithy retort.
“Brat.”
I scold him harshly. “Excuse me sir? You call me at four a.m. and lie to me and think you can get away with calling me that?” He tries to choke out something but I don’t hear it. “Good night.”
Unfortunately for him, I can deal with this on my own.
