For Alastor, the King of Hell was a fascinating puzzle, one he was determined to solve at any cost. Yet in the end, all it took was one glimpse at Lucifer's bandaged wrist for the pieces to snap into place with brutal clarity.
It was all so painfully obvious now. The exhaustion, slurred words, and slightly dilated pupils he'd dismissed as merely alcohol-induced. The sweet, metallic scent that clung faintly to the king. It wasn't just fatigue. It wasn't alcohol. The King of Hell, the Morningstar himself, was consuming his own blood, not for power, but for the high. The sheer audacity of it, of a fallen angel addicted to his own divinity, struck Alastor like lightning.
What a deliciously pathetic thing the king of Hell was. How could he not adore it?
