To say that Lincoln Loud was a normal 34 year old would be a callous lie, for he and the women that live in the apartment building he "owns" have a long and sordid history that, if it were ever to get out, threaten to ruin theirs and their multiple children's lives. Lincoln long ago made peace with what he and his multiple coconspirators had done after the dominoes fell.

Summary

Follow Ciaphas Cain, a decorated if mysterious veteran of the First Wizarding War, as he stumbles into events far larger, darker, and more dangerous than he would ever prefer. Expect misunderstandings, convenient accidents and lots and lots of lamenting by a protagonist who insists that none of this was his idea.
No prior knowledge of Warhammer 40,000 is required, though readers familiar with Ciaphas Cain may notice that some habits are impossible to unlearn, even with a wand in hand.

Ciaphas Cain had thought himself rather clever for switching his first deployment as a Commissar from the originally intended Artillery Regiment to the Vacation Planet of Fracterus. He should have known that the universe would hardly let him have such an easy time.
The Emperor, after all, needed a way to bring His will back to that sector. And while His will may be dolled out with hammer and bolter via his Primarchs and his Angels of Death, that does not mean that the ordinary man has no place in his plans, they just had to be....tweaked.
