A year and a half after the battle of Starcourt, Billy Hargrove is back in Hawkins for the holidays. United by loneliness, he and Steve form an uneasy alliance, which slowly begins to blossom into more during Billy’s subsequent holiday visits. But whilst Billy seems to have moved on from his encounter with the Upside Down, Steve remains rattled, convinced that the apparent peace Hawkins seems to be experiencing is merely the calm before the storm.
