Eva Stratt has never been a woman who hesitates.
She’s made countless decisions after decisions throughout her life, often regardless of the consequences that may result. She’s not an idiot. She’s well aware that there will be consequences, and she’s equally sure that the consequences will be of little concern. The end justifies the means — her actions will be judged, but at least they will have happened.

Sayaka vaguely recalls an old folk tale she heard when she was younger, sometimes. A story about a virtuous nun, who ate the flesh of a mermaid and became immortal, then spent centuries wandering all across Japan performing good deeds to make people happy.
It's not particularly relevant to anything important, though. And certainly not to her relationship with Homura Akemi.
