Summary
The day she climbed out of the water, only Willy had seen and therefore only he believed the truth of her arrival. "Like the stories they tuck children to bed with," he had said, "just up and rose from the foam."
And it was true, or rather it had to be true. By the time Harvey really thought to examine the details of the whole ordeal, three months had swum lazily past and the peak of summer was soon arriving. No, she did not wash up on shore, as they all had suspected Willy actually meant when he told them of her pale skin–so clear that he swore he could trace all her veins and the outline of her heart. She had walked to it.

Summary
Every night since the first you have tucked yourself to bed with the same empty promise: tomorrow you would, you will, you can. In the sunlight of each ’today’ you realize the tricks you play on yourself in the dark. The plants won’t grow, the chickens won’t lay and winter lurks just behind the corner. Silly little girl, you dug the hole around you with eyes firmly closed. No ladder, no rope, when you look up you can scarcely see the sky. You are sure you can feel the walls shuddering.
You can’t seem to put down the shovel.

Summary
In the most genuine sense of the word, it was a miracle he was still alive. Abducted, imprisoned, infected, and finally rocketed off a burning ship and racing toward the ground. Certainly it was the work of a God--perhaps even his Goddess--that guided his plummet toward the faint portal. And it was certainly an inconceivably lucky fate to be trapped within the waypoint.
Time passed on the ship. Exactly how much, Gale was unsure. But undoubtedly enough. His chest ached with the same violence in which the harsh purple glow radiated down his cheek and visibly through his robes. Soon enough the unquenchable Netherese void would drown his heart and split his ribs. At least now, here in the stone, the destruction unleashed upon his death would be minimal. A comfortable thought to die with, that his Goddess granted him this one final shred of peace. Her former chosen would devote his last breaths as thanks to her benevolence. He deserved much less.
But when the tense and tired voices warbled faintly in through the thin magic boundary, the blasphemer outstretched his guilty hand.

This is currently a one-shot but will likely be expanded into a fuller story in the future.
