It's usually Spitfire who personally invites reserves to be promoted into the Wonderbolts.
Yet, it was Soarin who touched down that day. He held out a blue envelope to Rainbow Dash, and the Wonderbolts insignia gleamed under the light. Her lifelong dream was finally in her hooves, and she was going to show Equestria the freedom that came with a pegasus's wings.
But first, she had to show the Wonderbolts what she was made of. Soarin in particular seemed to have his eyes on her, and she wasn't going to let him down.
(In reality, he just has some things he really wants to say to her, but it's hard to do anything under Spitfire's watchful glare.)
