Izzy didn't seem to know what Stede meant, and he crouched in front of Ed, tilting his head up to look him in the eye. "Captain? Did he hurt you?"
"Iz… did you trap yourself on my ship?"
"Trap myself? No. What do you-" Izzy looked at the skin in Ed's lap, darting a glance Stede's way before putting the pieces together. "I suppose I did, just a bit. I did it willingly, though, Edward. You have to know that."
(Or: Stede Bonnet gets caught up in the fishing nets of the Queene Anne and is pulled aboard. He attacks his captor, Captain Edward Teach, before he realizes the man means him no hard. Parsing through the puzzle that is Ed's relationship with his selkie first mate is intriguing enough that Stede wants to stick around to get to know them better.)

There was a long stretch of silence before Ed finally stepped out from the shadows. He wasn’t exactly sure what he was expecting the young woman to do but it was certainly not a seemingly prim and proper heiress pointing the tip of her sword at his throat.
“How long have you been spying on me?” She growled venomously.
Edward panicked as he racked his brain for something to say. The unhelpful fucker was only able to supply one thought. ‘Fuck, she’s so cool.’ He did, however, have the good sense to throw his hands up in a clear act of surrender while he stared at her like a deer in the headlights.
“How long have you been spying on me?” Her voice grew more threatening as her sword kissed at his skin. “I won’t be asking again.”
“Holy fuck you’re hot.” Ed really didn’t mean to say that out loud but in a way he was grateful for his lack of filter since it caused the heiress to blush so prettily.
“What?!” She squawked, clearly taken aback. “I have a sword pressed to your throat, you twat!”This is the story of how Israel "The Devil's Sidekick" Hands and Edward "Blackbeard" Teach came to be.
