Summary
“He has already broken her betrothal to the Florents,” Aelinor whispered, her face lighting up as she finally finds occasion to speak and seems to have found an audience beyond her disinterested husband. “A match made when the girl was but three years old. Lord Owen paid the gold to see it undone, all in the hopes of catching a bigger fish in his nets.”
Maekar felt the familiar, bitter heat rising in his gorge. He looked at his mother, whose eyes remained fixed on her wine, then at Baelor, who was studiously breaking a piece of bread.
“A bigger fish?” Maekar’s voice was like grinding stones. “And here I sit, the lord of Summerhall, a widower in need of a wife, and the King’s own son. If this Laena is the wonder of the Reach, why is it the pious Sara you put before me? Why should the ‘Maiden Reborn’ not be my match instead?”
OR
The Queen has picked candidates for Prince Maekar's next wife. The choices would be easier to swallow if he had never met Laena Tyrell.

Summary
"No, my prince. You are fussing over me," His Valarr goes beautifully red in the face, "Like a father."
The words make him feel heady and he wonders if the pretty Omega boy knew just who he was talking to—Baelor Targaryen belonged to the House of the Dragon, blood married blood and such unions brought forth relations that made the rest of the realm sour. Something in him purrs in delight at making the usually stone-faced Omega flush and he whispers lowly, "If you were my son, I would not let you take a single step out of the Red Keep without my sigil collar on your neck."
Valarr Targaryen dies and then wakes up years in the past where the stirrings of the first Blackfyre rebellion have begun.

Summary
Baelor Targaryen died on the Fields of Ashford Meadow, but he woke in 93AC, as a boy of five in Dorne, a younger brother named Maekar in his arms. He's too young, too powerless, and too Dornish to even begin to grasp how he might alter the history stretched before him. Whether he is in the Heavens or the Hells, he knows he must make the best of the knowledge and skills at his disposal and end the Dance of the Dragons before it can start.

“Have you ever thought about getting one?” Lyonel asked.
Dunk furrowed his brow at Lyonel’s vague question until it dawned on him. “Oh, fuck off—”
“Rude!” Lyonel exclaimed in delight. “How rude you are to me for asking but a simple question!”
“A hedge knight with an earring is asking to be robbed,” Dunk drawled.
A concession turns into a confession, and Duncan wears both very well.
-OR-
How an earring altered the trajectory of House Baratheon.

Summary
“He didn’t mean it!” Aegon gestured at Daeron, who had yet to move or make a sound aside from the occasional drunken gurgle. “He’s just out of it is all. I promise, Ser.”
“He thanked me for standing there to catch it, boy. He meant it.” The giant looked up from his washing to Aegon, and his eyes widened dramatically at Maekar. Aegon turned to follow his gaze, and his big eyes became even wider than the giant’s.
“Aegon,” said Maekar, voice deathly quiet. “Where is your hair?”
