    Summary

Three hundred years ago, Earth was destroyed. Only by shipping offplanet and transitioning into robots does humanity survive--barely. Now, centuries later, what was once their saving grace, Androids, have become expendable. Distrusted, mistreated, and forcibly deactivated, Androids are under attack.

Steve, former human, political dissenter with an ardent love for fire, and now full Android with an inability to keep his goddamned mouth shut, is tired.

Bucky, former human, war survivor who was rescued from a self-loathing spiral out of a literal trash can, and now full Android with emotional turbulence, is lonely.

When the two meet, they find that living is not about what makes them robots, but the spark that makes them human.

But is it too little too late? Because to survive the threat of this new world together, it's possible that simply feeling human may not be enough.

    Summary

Bucky's running late for the bus and he's stuck in line behind some ridiculous shoulder to waist ratio bastard who's too busy flirting with the baristas to get his frickin' order in. After he tells the dude off, completely in his rights he feels, the damn oversized puppy-faced ass keeps following him around and trying to apologize. And okay, dude is hot like burnin', but Bucky just doesn't have the time or patience for soothing the wounded ego of some gymrat wannabe with an obsession for dressing like he's hiding from the mob and .... why are you laughing, Sam?

    Summary

Bucky Barnes suffered from depression before he joined the army, and when he came back, he suffered tenfold. Steve Rogers painted his nightmares and didn't talk about how he lost his leg. Natasha believed it was possible -- just maybe -- that broken people could help heal one another.

    Summary

Steve would do anything for Bucky. He tore the world apart and chased HYDRA back into the shadows. He stepped back when Bucky turned himself in to the feds. Now that Bucky's broken himself out of custody in order to take down the corrupt agency that tried to use him again, Steve'll be damned if he doesn't stand by him. The only problem? The Winter Soldier swears he's not Bucky.

Or, genetically altered superheroes point guns at each other.

    Bookmarker's Notes

There's so many recovery fics... But something about this was so delicate and charming and real. I thought the characterization were spot on. I'm gonna definitely read this one again.
