Summary
Out of all the outcomes for his life, Bucky never expected this. In his mind, being a partner, a friend, and a father was never an option. Too much trauma on the table, not enough mind on his shoulders for such a thing. When you crash into his life after one of his missions, he never expects you to be the person to give it all to him, but he should’ve known something big was coming the second you silenced all the voices in his head just by simply being there. Now, Bucky gets to make you family. Maybe he does get a happy ending, after all.

Guilt and accountability were difficult things to process after all the trauma this world has gone through, but if there was one thing you knew, it was that this man—this Sargent had no business coming back into everyone's lives like this. As if he wasn't largely part of the reason why Sam had to leave, why your best friend Sarah had to be alone for so many years.
