Summary
“Marinette wasn’t an idiot. As many precautions as she insisted they take, she knew she and Chat Noir were both going to find out sooner or later. Of course, Marinette assumed that the way they’d found out wasn’t by running right smack into each other and detransforming in front of the other. So of course, in a typical calm and rational manner, they pointed to each other and screamed.”
Because, nine times out of ten, letting the cat out of the bag just ends up being very, very awkward.

Bookmarker's Notes
I’ve been PLOWING through this author’s ML fics ever since I caught up with the show, and I’ve yet to find other ML fics that gave me as much joy and heart as the show (there are definitely others, I just trust/adore how this author approaches characterizations).
Bookmarked this fic in particular because it balances being rooted in canon while still playing around with development/characters. Alya and Nino were great supporting characters, and my god. Marinette and Adrien were so fun to read. I could feel the thought that the author put behind each chapter—like having to confront how they idealized one another, the love square, the instant chemistry having to mesh between their identities... It all really built on top of each other. A mutual reveal is a lot to unpack, and I think this story did a very good job at unraveling all of their emotions.
But most of all I loved loved loved that I could tell that this story worked so hard to tell Marinette that she shouldn’t be ashamed of her teenage emotions/thoughts. It’s present in most of the chapters and it ties into what makes Marinette click. Authors that can recognize that these characters are teens and treat them like it make the stories so much more enjoyable. This story was a ride that I enjoyed taking.

Summary
The first time they drifted, they lasted for 24 seconds.
Everyone thought they’d be able to do it so easily, and everyone included Jake. So many of the great jaeger teams were siblings. You usually couldn’t get more solid, more in sync than that. But he knew he’d miscalculated the moment his mind touched Mako’s.
Or, what if Pacific Rim Uprising was much more focused on Mako and Jake's relationship and also different in several other ways?

I just binged the two movies, and aw man. Yeah... this was a lot of I wanted from the second movie. LOVE the Mako/Jake here that we didn't get.
Bookmarked because I really really enjoyed how drifting was written here + that Jake/Nate dynamic was great, and again, the sibling relationship here felt so earnest... I just wanted to get a feel at how pacrim fics were like, and after this, I don't think I need to look further. Good read!! -

Found this again after reading it a LONG time ago, and. Jeez. “Is the unreliable narration worth it,” I asked myself many times during the length of the fic, and then Oerba happened, and I was convinced very surely that it was!! Like. Wow. The resolution to them Finally being on the same page, when the readers know better (<- this was the hardest thing to balance, but thank God the resolution felt so good).
Really fun interpetation of the second half of the game. The narrators are stubborn, but the writer makes their intentions clear and jeez, sometimes you just gotta trust that the writer knows where they want to take the story. Bookmarked for a hard to read but satisfying to conclude unreliable narration, and the messy relationship between Fang/Light. Also the focus on the l’Cie mark growth was fun.

Summary
It’s been a year but Yang knows her, knows what her body means in the way it moves, knows every tilt of her mouth, every blink, every beat of her heart, every chamber of it, the way it bruises and bleeds and bumps against her chest. I’ve lived there, Yang thinks of telling her, please let me leave. But Blake is silent and doesn’t move.
The truth is easy for Yang to see until it isn't. I love you, Blake says. It's the only reason I've ever done anything.
There you go, Yang says, lying again.

Bookmarker's Notes
Oh jeez. I didn't even realize this was 30K. Sets the bar for dramatic writing early on, and puts you on a RIDE. The flashbacks were balm for the soul while we tided through the worst of the present, and like. Really good structuring of the timeline. The dialogue had a good rhythm, and the pacing was perfect, but woww it was the structure that stuck out the most to me. My favorite part was how the "I don't like how men look at me/how do I look at you" exchange was used twice in the fic... both meaningful, but in different contexts. Reading the memory vs. the actual flashback FLOORED me. I can't stop repeating "wow" to myself, omg.
Also the best part about it was how much love was pumped into the story. Blake and Yang's love was so intense, dude.. The intensity and drama fit the story, and every character played their part well. Bookmarked for how this fic is laden with dramatic romance (I LOVED IT A LOT) -
