It’s second nature to find herself at the bar where they all congregated after the gala, an eagle eye on her babies, watching with an ache in her chest as each one paired off, the gentle start of something new, something precious. The only person who notices the sadness behind her sharp eyes is Cassie, and she’s not going to stop until she finds out what is weighing their lynchpin down so heavily.
