Summary
He shouldn't have been surprised that what he actually wanted paled in comparison to the entertainment he could offer to some ancient force who saw humans more as dollar store toys than things with agency. He shouldn't have been surprised when the broiling-black cleft of the Empty split open into a plain stone staircase leading upwards into the unknown, and he shouldn't have been surprised when the Empty split the face that didn't belong to It into a smile that didn't fit It.
"Don't look back, not even for a second," It said, "and you can have him back."
______________
Or, in a world where the Empty is gay superhell, Cas gets to be Eurydice. Inspired by and title from "Talk" by Hozier.Bookmarked by farleydanger

Summary
Junhui laughed again. His arms were still looped around Joshua’s neck, the weight of him a warm anchor. After hours of boring, sludgy work, Joshua finally felt like himself again. Returning home was a resurrection.

Summary
And here's the thing — Taeha has been their manager since the day they became a group of eight. He's watched them go through their highs, their lows, has watched them grow and mature and evolve into the amazing human beings they are today. He's barely a decade older than Chan, but he feels protective over him, over all of them.
They're his Kids — his to look after and care for and protect, the one who protects them because they should only have to focus on protecting each other, and let Taeha and the others do the rest — and he has never been prouder of the fact that he gets to be the one they trust the most, their favorite, the one they rely on, the one they sometimes accidentally call "Appa" when they're tired and bleary-eyed, the same way a student accidentally calls their teacher "Eomma" when they're not thinking.
He just…didn't think there would come a day where he actually might have to parent them.
Or give them…The Talk.
