Susie always moved away. No matter what she did. That was always how it ended. It didn't matter if she made friends. It didn't matter if she was actually happy for once in her godforsaken life. It didn't matter if she saved the world. There was only one way things could end.
Part of her thought maybe it was better this way. The entire time, her best friend had been possessed. And she hadn't even noticed. She was good at fighting – that was how she saved the world. But when it came to actually living in it? When it came to doing what people actually needed? She had no idea what the hell she was supposed to do.
So she left. She let herself be taken so far away. Still chained to the whims of fate, even having shattered that stupid Prophecy. Far from Ralsei. Far from Lancer. Far from… Kris.
Even though she moved away, Susie can never forget Kris. No matter the distance that separates them, she longs to be by their side once more.
