Viktor had never seen the sun.
Well, not actually, he had only seen pictures of it in books. Sitting in his hammock haphazardly strewn across his mother’s expansive library of encyclopedias Viktor would run his hands across the picture of a blue sky and a green pasture and wonder what it must have felt like, the warmth on this pale skin. His mother told him that it felt like the heat that radiated from his favorite blue lava lamp only stronger – at least, that’s what her father told her, and what his mother told him…
