“The stars are falling down,” Ivan says, watching the way the edges of the phosphorescent stickers slowly detach from the ceiling. He reaches up as if to touch them, but the ceiling looms far beyond his reach.
“Stop being so dramatic,” Till says, studying the sheet music in his hands from his position on the floor beside Ivan’s bed. “They’re just glow in the dark stars that we bought when we were 7, you could buy a better pack if you wanted to.”
“I can’t help it,” Ivan says, his eyes sliding over to trace the gentle curve of Till’s neck as he hunches over the papers. “When I like something, I have no room for anything else.”
(Or, a childhood friends AU where Ivan’s spent more than half of his life being in love with his best friend with eyes the color of the sea.)
