The monster holding on to Ray Toro’s jacket sleeve sure doesn’t look much like one.
Sure, he’s a little paler than the average guy, his eyebags are a little deeper, and his (currently disastrously ruined) eyeliner makes him look a little like a deranged raccoon at times, but really, he’s pretty believably human. Gerard Way’s fangs are kept thoroughly hidden by lips stained plausibly-lipstick red, and his near-ivory skin is easy enough to mistake for gothy foundation. Maybe it’s just how long Ray’s known him, but he doesn’t look monstrous. He just looks like… well, Gee.
But today is a good day. They’re running out of good days.Mikey’s gone, and nobody’s heard from him for days. Ray is left at the Ways’ place to take care of his older brother, who just happens to be a vampire. Shenanigans ensue.

this author has never disappointed. ever. i don’t even CARE about the killjoys that much but this was beautifully tooth-rotting sweet and it made me feel genuinely nauseous with happiness at times. it’s impossible to read without a smile and i can’t believe ive been putting it off for so long. i’m crazy about the dynamic here they’re all lovable assholes and i don’t even CARE that there’s no plot. smut or no smut id love this the same. this is by far my favourite interpretation of fun ghoul specifically but also maybe all the kjs

Frank shakes his head frantically, “I’m not crazy, don’t look at me like that!” And even if he was, he feels pretty fucking strongly that he is allowed to rave like a mad man after that. “I’m not fucking crazy, you saw it!”
Gerard sighs quietly, reaching out to touch Frank's cheek. “I know you’re scared-” he sounds so reasonable that it makes rage seer through the smaller man’s veins.
On most occasions, Frank loves hearing those gentle tones from Gerard’s mouth. This is not one of those moments. Gerard is trying to calm Frank down, and Frank will not be fucking calmed down.

oh wow i uh. i came for paramour angst and i GOT paramour angst. this was a fucking ride and maybe it was a little slow at the beginning but that building tension is so necessary… when it all comes crashing down, good lord. it was all so fucking worth it for those last couple of chapters and i am SICK of getting emotional over the black parade but. man. yeah. what a goddamn fic. the black parade is dead! chapter was…….. ough……….. i’m never getting over it this is everything i could want from a tbp-focused fic. i guess they call it emo because it’s emotional hahahahahahfhghggaaaghhgaghghggghaaaaaaaughh
