In the center of the room is a figure with their back to her. The faint light reflects off long, gleaming hair trailing onto the floor, and the ethereal sight of it captivates Tokuko.
“Rengetsu.” A voice says, and the figure begins to turn.
Tokuko wakes up.
“Father,” Tokuko says one day. “Who is Rengetsu?”

Summary
Ryuu is eight years old when he first arrives in Clarines. He doesn’t really remember much of the journey, but he remembers how the forests stretched on for days and the rivers glittered in the sunlight.
He hasn’t gotten nearly enough sleep when he shows up at the examination hall in the palace. There are whispers as he walks into the room, and he feels stares latch onto him as he takes a seat. It’s unpleasant, but all he knows is that if he passes he’ll be able to learn more about the plants that fascinate him so much.

Percy was at least happy that this wasn't a prophecy. Stealing back some demigod weapons from a mortal? Sure, Iron Man was a superhero and a genius, but after dealing with Gaea, that was nothing. They just had to steer clear of anyone who might recognize them, and they were positive that they could pull it off easier than most of their quests. And potentially land Leo a job, while they're at it.
But Percy should have known better. Nothing is ever that simple for a demigod.

Two weeks into the first semester of her freshman year of college and Mako knows exactly where she will be spending just about every minute of her free time. The little coffee shop around the corner from the building she’s living in has the best caramel machiatos that she’s ever tasted (and considering they’re her secret weakness, she’s had quite a few of them). It doesn’t hurt that the two brothers who run the place are extremely easy on the eyes or that they consider her a regular by the fourth time she sets up shop there, already elbows deep in work.
