Bruce closes his hand around Dick’s, giving him the same treatment, touching each fingertip. “Alfred taught me, the same as I’m teaching you.”

This whole thing felt like a big joke. Because it was. Clark heard Lois and Jimmy and Steve giggle as he dragged his feet out the door. He was tasked with the impossible but if he failed, his job was jeopardized. Or at least, that’s what Perry told him in a very stern voice that afternoon. How was he supposed to interview the guy whose whole thing is no one knows who he is or where he comes from or where he disappears to.
